Becoming a National Student Academy of Audiology Member

Graduate students enrolled full-time in an AuD, AuD/PhD, or PhD program earning a first doctoral degree in audiology are eligible for membership with the national Student Academy of Audiology.

International students are eligible to apply if enrolled in a non-United States post-secondary academic institution for audiology.

Undergraduate students must be enrolled in an undergraduate program or taking post-baccalaureate classes at an accredited institution for higher learning to be eligible for undergraduate associate membership.

“National SAA allows students to network and make lifelong connections with other volunteers, both peers and in the professional community. Additionally, national SAA provides a space where students are able to contribute and make tangible choices regarding the future of audiology.
Let me know if you have any questions."

Student Academy of Audiology

National SAA Membership Has Its Benefits

The most valuable national SAA membership benefit is the student voice, heard through participation in national SAA and Academy strategic goals and activities. The national SAA provides additional member benefits that contribute to the student voice as well as the individual student member, advancing the rights, interests, and welfare for all pursuing careers in audiology.

National SAA Membership Dues

National SAA membership dues are $65 for SAA Members and $40 for Undergraduate Associates. Membership runs on a calendar year (January-December) with membership renewals due January 1 of each year.

Interested in joining later in the semester or calendar year? Membership dues are prorated March-August to only cover the months when benefits are received. Prorated dues are automatically calculated during the application process, no extra steps needed. After August, new and rejoining members receive the rest of the current calendar year and all of the following calendar year for the cost of annual membership. That's up to four months of free membership!

Recently Graduated? Take the Next Step and Fellow Up!

The Academy’s Fellow Up! Program assists graduating national SAA members with transitioning their membership from student to professional status within the Academy. Once current national SAA members have graduated with their first doctoral degree in audiology, the Academy will automatically upgrade their membership to Fellow 1 (new professional) status when membership renewals are run for that year.

Additionally, new professionals in the Academy receive discounted Fellow membership dues for three years after graduating with their first doctoral degree.
