Student Leaders in Audiology Conference
The Student Leaders in Audiology Conference (SLAC) was created to provide an open and engaging opportunity for students to grow and develop skills in leadership so that they may become active, contributory members to an already thriving audiology community. The audience will be solely comprised of audiology students who have been selected through a rigorous application process to become future leaders and decision makers in the profession of audiology. Programming for the 2018 conference in Nashville, TN aims to focus on how the relevancy of leadership, disruption of traditional outlooks, dedicated involvement in professional organizations, and intimate understanding of individual strengths positively impact personal/professional development and practice, but also help to elevate and propel the profession of Audiology moving forward. Speakers will include Gail Whitelaw, PhD, Steve Madix, PhD, Samantha Kesteloot-Carlton, and keynote speaker, Jaime Vernon, Executive Director and Founder of Songs for Sound.
The application for the 2018 SLAC is now available on the Audiology Community. To access the application, login to the Community, click on the Volunteer tab, then "Current Volunteer Opportunities". You must be signed in to the Community to access the application. Deadline to submit is Friday, February 16. A sample resume has been provided for potential applicants to follow when submitting the application.
