Undergraduate Humanitarian Award

The Undergraduate Humanitarian Award will be awarded to an SAA Undergraduate Associate that demonstrates exemplary participation in SAA Chapter or other club events at their university campus, thus showing strength in the Humanitarian and Fundraising portions of Chapter Challenges. This can include, but is not limited to:

  • Volunteering at SAA Chapter events, such as Walk4Hearing, an SAA 5K, or Special Olympics Hearing Screenings.
  • Participation in other volunteering events, such as Alternative Spring Break. Events relating to the profession of audiology will be more heavily weighted.
  • Observation hours with a licensed audiologist are also included for recognition of this award, although not mandatory.
  • Raising money for philanthropic causes. Money raised for causes related to communication sciences and disorders and/or audiology will be more heavily weighted.

All participation must be verified by a member of your SAA Chapter’s Executive Board, the audiologist whom you shadowed, or the person in charge of the volunteer event.
