This November, alongside National Philanthropy Day®, the Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) and the American Academy of Audiology Foundation (AAAF) are encouraging students of all SAA chapters to recruit 5 supporters (it can be anyone), to each donate 5 dollars to the AAAF, from October 15 through November 15. Proceeds from the High-5 Fundraiser will go 100% towards student programming.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE: Academy members can donate online through the AAAF website via the “Members Make A Gift” button. Once a donation is made, please contact Rachael Sifuentes, Associate Director of SAA and Volunteer Engagement, to ensure the contribution is attributed to the High-5 Fundraiser.
To make recruitment efforts easier, here is a High-5 Fundraiser Flyer to help you spread the word.
NEW THIS YEAR: Don't forget to participate in the weekly challenges posted on SAA social media. A different challenge will be posted each Sunday, starting October 15, for five (5) weeks during the High-5 Fundraiser. The chapter with the most participation throughout the entire challenge will win Academy swag!
Challenge 1: Post a picture or video of 5 things you love about Audiology. To participate, respond to the October 15 post on the SAA Facebook page or tag @StudentAuD on Twitter!
Challenge 2: Post 5 activities your SAA Chapter plans on doing this school year. To participate, respond to the October 23 post on the SAA Facebook page or tag @StudentAuD on Twitter!
Challenge 3: Post 5 projects your SAA Chapter is working on this school year. To participate, respond to the October 29 post on the SAA Facebook page or tag @StudentAuD on Twitter!

Also, be sure to take a picture of your SAA Chapter and share it. Tag us on Facebook, Student Academy of Audiology, or @StudentAuD on Twitter along with the hashtag #FivefromFive or #HighForStudents. Chapters participating in the High-5 Fundraiser are eligible to receive a Round 1 Chapter Challenge point in the fundraising category and may be included in other Academy-related media covering the High-5 Fundraiser.
For more information or questions on how your chapter can get involved, please contact Rachael Sifuentes or Kathleen Hadsell, SAA Development Committee Chair.
