As we all likely know, AAA 2021 Virtual is just around the corner! The conference is scheduled April 14-16, 2021, and SAA student member registration is only $35! There will be a variety of valuable sessions taking place, featuring topics such as radiology for audiologists, amplification, adult diagnostics, and the annual Hearing Aids in Review.
Although the conference will look different this year due to the pandemic, there are still a plethora of benefits to be gained from attending, in addition to continuing education. More specifically, AAA 2021 Virtual will still be a wonderful opportunity to network with both students and audiologists nationwide. Consider stopping by one of the Interactive Lounges, or sign up to attend an evening event such as the Trivial Night – a Foundation FUN-Raiser, or the PAC Wine Tasting Event. The benefits gained from networking at conferences are irreplaceable; I hope you are able to take advantage of them this year.
In addition to the AAA 2021 Virtual, the SAA is offering additional student-focused events and sessions. The SAA Conference 2021 Virtual, generously sponsored by Starkey, is taking place on Wednesday, April 14, from 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM EST. This student-only conference includes engaging topics such as auditory brainstem implants, pediatric vestibular testing, and more! Students (members and non-members) can attend for just $20.
Additionally, the SAA is offering the Virtual Education Series; this is a series of live streamed presentations on a variety of topics. The first session, Cultivating Your Pathway to Financial Freedom, was held Wednesday, February 24, 2021; this was a well-received and highly attended event. Keep in mind these sessions are capped at 100 registrants, so keep your eyes on the SAA website and Facebook page for speaker announcements and be sure to sign up ASAP!
I hope you’re all doing well and staying healthy, looking forward to “seeing” you soon!
Ashley Hughes, AuD, SAA Advisory Committee (SAAAC) Chair
