1. What is the most exciting thing you have learned so far in your AuD?
I know it’s cheesy, but the most exciting thing I have learned is that this degree is just the beginning and that there is so much more for me to learn! In just a few months of my externship, I have already learned more about the brain and auditory processing!

2. What are your goals for SAA this year?
Each year that I have been involved with SAA, I have had an opportunity to meet and work with passionate SAA members from all over the country. I hope to continue to foster leadership at all levels of our organization from our undergraduate/post-baccalaureate members to our AuD/PhD students to our local chapter leaders and national volunteers! As we embark on our new structure for the Board of Directors, I hope that national SAA will be better prepared to serve our amazing membership.

3. What advice would you give to current AuD students?
Take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way and don’t get discouraged if something doesn’t work out. All you can do is keep moving forward and hope that the next experience is better than the previous one, whether it’s an academic course, a research project, or clinical experience. When I started my degree, I envisioned my experience looking very different than it did – some positive variations and some negative ones – but if I didn’t stay positive and keep looking for the next big thing, I would never have become President of the SAA or at an externship site that I love!

4. Tell us a fun fact about you!
I learned how to juggle in undergrad so I could volunteer teaching juggling to residential students at the New Jersey School for the Deaf.
