Six Northwestern Audiology Students Travel to Panajachel, Guatemala
A group of six Northwestern audiology doctoral students traveled to Panajachel, Guatemala, for a week to provide audiologic services in an area with very little access to hearing healthcare. We joined Entheos, a cooperative of private practices that believes in the importance of humanitarian work and serving others. We worked alongside three audiologists in ear cleaning, hearing screening and testing, making earmolds, fitting hearing aids, and performing real ear measures for children and adults. We also had the privilege of helping train two Guatemalan audiology students to promote sustainability. We are so grateful for the opportunity to serve the Guatemalan communities and learn from the Entheos audiologists and team members.
