The AAA Foundation offers numerous educational opportunities for graduate students and SAA chapters. Please see below for a full listing of all funding opportunities available. Applications will be made closer to due dates listed with each opportunity. Individual Scholarships

ARC Scholarship This scholarship provides complimentary registration for the annual ARC Conference held the first day of AudiologyNOW!. The application deadline has now passed for 2017. Check back later this year for more information about 2018 applications.

Empowering Students Scholarship This $5,000 scholarship is awarded to five (5) students who show exceptional promise as a clinical audiologist. The application deadline for the 2017-2018 cycle has now passed. Applications for the 2018-2019 cycle will be made available in Spring 2018. Underwritten by Oticon, Inc.

Judith Blumsack Scholarship This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates outstanding clinical skills and who shows promise in terms of clinical research and service to the hearing health community. The application deadline for the 2017-2018 cycle has now passed. Applications for the 2018-2019 cycle will be made available in Spring 2018.

Roger Ruth Memorial Scholarship This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates outstanding clinical skills and who shows promise in terms of clinical research and service to the hearing health community. The application deadline for the 2017-2018 cycle has now passed. Applications for the 2018-2019 cycle will be made available in Spring 2018.

Sadanand Singh Memorial Scholarship This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to one minority or international student who shows exceptional promise in audiology research. The application deadline for the 2017-2018 cycle has now passed. Applications for the 2018-2019 cycle will be made available in Spring 2018. Underwritten by Plural Publishing.

Patient Quality of Life Scholarship This $3,000 scholarship is awarded to three (3) students who show exceptional promise in providing outstanding patient care as a clinical audiologist. The application deadline for the 2017-2018 cycle has now passed. Applications for the 2018-2019 cycle will be made available in Spring 2018. Underwritten by Allied Health Media.

SAA Conference Scholarship This scholarship provides complimentary registration for the annual SAA Conference held at AudiologyNOW!. Underwritten by Starkey Hearing Technologies. The application deadline has now passed for 2017. Applications will be made available for 2018 in the Fall.

SAA Student Leader Scholarship This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a student who shows exceptional leadership in service to the profession of audiology. Applications are due October 1 annually.

Fellows-In-Training Travel (FITT) Student AN! Grant The FITT program offers twenty (20) audiology graduate students funding to attend AudiologyNOW! through generous support from Starkey Hearing Technologies. Selected students will receive a stipend of up to $500 for transportation and/or lodging expenses. The application deadline has now passed for 2017. Applications will be made available for 2018 in the Fall.

Student Travel Award Reimbursement (STAR) Program The STAR program offers outstanding audiology graduate students funding of up to $500 to attend meetings in the hearing sciences (as well as other sciences relating to student coursework). Applications are due January 1 and September 1 annually. Applications are now being accepted for the September 1, 2017 due date.

SAA Chapter Grants

SAA Special Olympics Healthy Hearing (SOHH) Chapter Participation Grants University SAA chapters participating in local, regional, and/or state SOHH events are encouraged to apply for these grants of up to $250.00 to offset travel costs. The application deadline has now passed for 2017. Applications for 2018 will be made available in the Fall. Underwritten by Starkey Hearing Technologies.

SAA Humanitarian, Educational, and Awareness Resources (HEAR) Chapter Grant This grant of up to $1,000 is to fund the development of a SAA chapter project that is either a new project or for the refinement of an existing project. The project must be either Humanitarian in nature, Educational in nature, or related to the Awareness of audiology. Applications are due February 1 and October 1 annually. Applications are now being accepted for the October 1, 2017 due date. Underwritten by Starkey Hearing Technologies.

Research Grants and Awards

James Jerger Awards for Excellence in Student Research Each year, four students who display their research posters at AudiologyNOW! receive a $500 award from the Foundation for outstanding research. For more information and to apply, visit the AudiologyNOW! Web site.

Research Grants in Hearing and Balance The AAA Foundation annually awards approximately $30,000 to student and new investigator researchers through the Academy’s Research Grants in Hearing and Balance Program. Student Research Forum Awards Each year, five recipients present their research findings at AudiologyNOW! and receive a $500 award from the Foundation. For more information and to apply, visit the AudiologyNOW! Web site. Underwritten by Plural Publishing.
