Caroline Henning is a first-year Doctor of Audiology student at the University of Iowa. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Pittsburgh, where her passion for audiology was sparked by observing interprofessional collaboration in a cleft palate clinic in rural Pennsylvania. Seeing the vital role audiologists played in a multidisciplinary care team inspired her to pursue a career focused on improving communication outcomes across the lifespan. Caroline’s clinical interests include pediatric diagnostics, hearing aids and cochlear implants, and interprofessional care for children with craniofacial conditions. She is especially passionate about early intervention, family-centered counseling, and advocating for accessible hearing healthcare for underserved populations.
At the University of Iowa, Caroline serves as the Public Relations Chair for her university’s Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) Chapter. In this role, she manages the chapter’s social media platforms, promotes student involvement, and designs custom merchandise to support fundraising and community outreach. Outside of audiology, Caroline enjoys taking hot yoga classes, spending time outdoors on walks or hikes, and exploring new restaurants with friends. She is excited for the opportunity to network with audiologists and fellow students, learn from their experiences, and help spread awareness about important advocacy issues through SAA newsletters and outreach efforts.
