Why are you interested in joining the national SAA Board of Directors?
I hope to connect with other AuD students and professionals by being on the Board of Directors. Going into my fourth/final year, I hope to stay connected in national SAA through being on the Board. I hope to gain new perspectives, ideas, and professional connections through this position.
What unique traits or skills will you bring to a leadership position with the national SAA?
I will bring a lot of encouragement and positivity to this group. I love hearing other people’s ideas and helping them come to life. If I become a part of this group, I would bring new ideas, ways to connect ideas, and a lot of encouragement for other board members and volunteers.
If you could change one thing about the profession of audiology, what would it be?
I would like to change the stigma and confusion around how to be an advocate for the profession. I believe advocacy is extremely important for both students and professionals to learn how to do and do effectively. I wish learning about how to contact local and national officials was more readily available in AuD coursework and encouraged from clinical supervisors and professors.
