Yuqing Fan is a first-year AuD student at the University of Iowa. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Biola University. Yuqing’s passion for audiology was sparked through her coursework in introductory hearing science, where she found the anatomy of the ear and the process of hearing both fascinating and inspiring. Her interest deepened through her volunteer work with the Southern California Special Olympics, where she assisted in hearing screenings for athletes, as well as through her internship in local school districts, where she witnessed the impact of early intervention and the life-changing benefits of cochlear implants in children.
These experiences solidified her commitment to pursuing a career in audiology and exploring diverse clinical areas, including pediatric audiology, cochlear implants, tinnitus management, and geriatric care. As a national SAA State Ambassador, she is dedicated to advocating for the field of audiology and fostering communication and collaboration among students and chapters nationwide.
