1. Why did you decide to become an SAA Committee Volunteer?
I decided to become an SAA Committee Volunteer because I felt it was important to get involved at a national level and give back to our profession by means of service. In addition, I was looking for opportunities to engage in collaboration and build relationships with audiology students from other programs.
2. What do your responsibilities include within your committee?
This year I was granted the opportunity to plan and organize the Externship Panel event. I contacted and invited our volunteer panelists and I created the PowerPoint to be presented at the event.
3. Within the field of Audiology, what are your primary interests?
I am currently working towards a dual degree in audiology and clinical research and I am also specializing in pediatric audiology. My clinical and research interests include best practice in pediatric audiology, cochlear implants, aural rehabilitation, speech perception and language development in children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
