Hannah Wittenback

About Hannah

Hannah Wittenback is a third-year Doctor of Audiology student at the University of Texas at Dallas. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Oklahoma. Hannah’s clinical interests include pediatric audiology and the relationship between hearing loss and accompanying comorbidities. She is especially passionate about pediatric audiology services and accessibility for medically complex patient populations. At the University of Texas at Dallas, Hannah serves as the Vice President for her university’s Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) Chapter. In this role, she delegates responsibilities and oversees the performance of other officers. Outside of audiology, you can find Hannah taking dance classes, walking with her dog, Peach, or exploring Dallas with her friends.

If you could change one thing about the profession of audiology, what would it be?

If I could change one thing about the profession of audiology, it would be improving insurance coverage for audiologic services, particularly expanding and modernizing Medicare reimbursement. Greater coverage would increase access to essential diagnostic and rehabilitative care and reduce financial barriers for patients.

What unique traits or skills will you bring to a leadership position with the national SAA?

I will bring strong communication and interpersonal skills paired with a genuine commitment to advocacy, collaboration, and building a connected audiology community.
