Kassander Thompson is a fourth-year AuD student at the University of Connecticut and is currently completing his externship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Kassander was drawn to audiology by his passion for increasing the ease of communication between patients and their loved ones and his fascination with how our brain processes acoustic signals. His clinical and research interests include tinnitus, hidden hearing loss, the power of patient narratives, central auditory processing in neurodiverse populations, and the use of electrophysiological measures in determining the progression of neurodegenerative disorders.
He has previously served as the UCONN SAA chapter’s vice president and has consistently volunteered for community outreach programs within Connecticut. While serving as communications chair for the 2023-2024 term, he aims to promote chapter initiatives at both the local and national levels, inform about current events and research within the field of audiology, and serve as a resource for those interested in the profession.
