Dr. Maria Pomponio received her bachelor of arts degree from Loyola University Maryland in 2011 and her doctor of audiology degree from Towson University in 2015. She completed her audiology externship at Stony Brook Medicine from 2014-2015. Prior to returning to Stony Brook’s Speech and Hearing Department as an audiologist in 2023, Dr. Pomponio worked clinically with patients of all ages at hospital organizations in both Philadelphia and New York City. She has presented at state and national conferences on topics including auditory processing disorder and graduate student supervision.
She participated in the Academy’s Jerger Future Leaders of Audiology Conference in 2022 and is a member of the Academy’s Ethical Practices Committee. Dr. Pomponio is licensed in audiology through the New York State Department of Education and maintains active membership in ASHA and the Academy.
