Marissa Schaefer

Marissa Schaefer is the 2023-2024 Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) Wisconsin State Ambassador. She earned a bachelor of arts in communication sciences and disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2021, where she was also a cheerleader for the Badger football and basketball teams. Marissa is a second-year doctor of audiology student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She facilitated the development of Listen Up UW, UW Madison Doctor of Audiology program’s community outreach on healthy hearing practices.

In May of 2023, she was the Student Spotlight in the National Hearing Conservation Spectrum Newsletter. Her primary interests include pediatrics, nonprofit audiology, and hearing conservation. Outside of audiology, you can find Marissa playing with her golden doodle Sadie, reading, or playing board games with friends. Marissa plans to utilize her experience within branding, marketing, and outreach to facilitate new and continue existing conversations about hearing health.
