Matthew Lopez

Matthew (Matty) Lopez is a second-year doctor of audiology student at Gallaudet University who is proud to represent the Washington, DC, metro area as State Ambassador and also serves as treasurer for the local Gallaudet University Chapter. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech pathology and audiology from Loyola University Maryland and holds a master of arts degree in philosophy from Fordham University. As a former ethics and social justice educator, the opportunities to learn from the complexities and nuances between the field of audiology and d/Deaf or hard of hearing plus communities have been a highlight of his academic and clinical careers. Matty is dedicated to accompanying and collaborating with each patient as they navigate their individual approaches to hearing loss, access to sound, and vestibular concerns.
