The Northeast Ohio AuD Consortium recently participated in the Remote Area Medical event in Youngstown, OH. Remote Area Medical is a non-profit provider of healthcare services aiming to serve underserved and uninsured individuals. The event offered free medical, dental, hearing, and vision services that were largely performed by students and other professional volunteers. Our students performed otoscopy and hearing screenings for many individuals. The event also offered financing options for hearing aids and offered many opportunities for audiologic counseling to inform the public about hearing loss and treatment.
