"Ask Me About Audiology" Campaign
The "Ask Me About Audiology" (AMAA) Campaign empowers audiology students to educate their communities about hearing health, hearing loss prevention, and the essential role of audiologists in improving the quality of life. This initiative encourages nationally recognized SAA Chapters to spark conversations and raise awareness about the impact of noise exposure and untreated hearing loss.
As an added bonus, nationally recognized SAA Chapters can earn one chapter challenge point if they participate in this year's AMAA campaign!
Tools to Get Started
To help students and SAA chapters launch effective outreach, below are ready-to-use resources, including:
- Academy Fact Sheets on hearing loss, tinnitus, hearing protection, and more
- Infographics
- Social media tools
- Tinnitus: What You Need to Know Flyers
Hosting an Event
AMAA events can be large or small. Consider organizing one of the following in your local community:
- Participation in a local health fair or community wellness walk
- Earplug distribution at sports games and concerts
- Educational presentations at schools, senior centers, or other community groups
- A social media challenge promoting hearing protection or sharing audiology facts
- Collaborative events with allied health students (medicine, dentistry, optometry)
Creativity and collaboration help amplify your message and encourage community members to prioritize their hearing health. Remember to share photos and tag national SAA on Instagram to inspire others!
