About Audrey
Audrey is a third-year doctoral student at the Northeast Ohio AuD Consortium (NOAC). She looks forward to completing her externship this upcoming year at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Ohio University in 2023. She also holds a certificate as a Professional Deaf Resources Liaison from Ohio University. Audrey currently serves as the President of her local SAA chapter and has served as Secretary of her local chapter throughout her years at NOAC. Audrey fell in love with audiology after being exposed to the field by a family friend who was born with bilateral hearing loss. Her areas of interest include vestibular assessment, adult diagnostics, and adult hearing aid technologies. Audrey strives to provide excellent patient care to every patient she encounters and is committed to being an active leader and advocate within the field of audiology, both nationally and at the state level. Outside of audiology, you can find Audrey reading a good book and trying new coffee shops with her friends.
If you could change one thing about the profession of audiology, what would it be?
If I could change one thing about our profession, it would be the way we are perceived as a “smaller fish”. We are a small profession, that much is true, but we do important work that provides a quality of life back to patients across the lifespan, and I feel our knowledge and expertise are overlooked in other aspects of healthcare.
What unique traits or skills will you bring to a leadership position with the national SAA?
I believe I have a unique way of seeing multiple perspectives that helps me really lead my team in a comprehensive and effective plan with realistic goals. For national SAA, I feel my perspectives, collaborative approach, and ambition can help grow upon the foundation that has been laid by previous board members.
