Why are you interested in joining the national SAA Board of Directors?

I want to be a part of creating new advancements in audiology and stay informed on the latest research, rules/standards changes, etc. I also want to build my network of colleagues that I’ll be working alongside in the near future.

What unique traits or skills will you bring to a leadership position with the national SAA?

I am fluent in Spanish and conversational in American Sign Language

If you could change one thing about the profession of audiology, what would it be?

The cookie cutter approach to audiology. I am a firm believer that there are no two people, ears, or hearing loss that are the same and they should not be treated the same either. I also believe that aural rehabilitation should be incorporated into more of the appointment to actually listen to the patients concerns and questions and to make them feel confident that they selected the right provider.
