The University at Buffalo SAA Chapter participates in Buffalo’s Walk4Hearing event every year. They participate by walking, volunteering to set up and clean up, helping with children’s activities, displaying event signs, assisting in event parking, fundraising, and coming together as a group to support our community. Not only is this a fun and active way to get involved within their community, but it also serves to increase awareness about hearing loss, hearing screenings, and the importance of maintaining good hearing health. It is also a great opportunity to raise funds to provide information and support for people with hearing loss on both a local and national level.
This past year, the University at Buffalo SAA Chapter raised $3,010. This amount is the most that they have raised within the past three years and they were the fifth highest group of donors in the event! In total the Buffalo Walk4Hearing event raised $25,819, which is amazing. The University at Buffalo SAA Chapter plans to continue participating in this community event in the future and only hopes to beat their fundraising goals year after year!
